Maria Estela “Isabel” Peron nee Martinez assumed the presidency of argentina following the death of her husband, Juan Peron. She thus Became the world’s First Female president, but labor unrest, inflation and political violence pushed he country to the brink of chaos.Accused of corruption, she was held under house arrest for five years and eventually went into exile in spain. Isabel was Person’s third wife, after Evita ( Maria Eva) Duartes.
