In 1901 American cavarly troops established an outpost near angeles, Pampanga, while discovering the hilly countryide to be an excellent source of grass for thier horses. two years later the out post became Fort Stotsenberg with addition of infantry and artillery units. In 1971, a portion of fort, which had grown into 1971, a portion of fort, which had grown into a 63,000-hectares military reservation, was converted an air facilty, later named Clark Air Field
